Every Fantasy League Has a Story. Your Trophy Should Too.

I've made fantasy trophies for just about every sport you can think of.

Sorry, soccer.

From football to baseball, basketball, hockey, and beyond, I've tried to design each trophy around what it actually feels like to be a fanatic about that sport—and, more specifically, what it feels like to be part of a fantasy league.

Because fantasy sports aren't just about keeping track of stats.

They're about rivalries.

They're about trash talk.

They're about draft-day traditions, ridiculous inside jokes, questionable trades, and that one guy who takes everything way too seriously.

And every league has its own personality.

That's where things get interesting.

"Can You Make This Custom?"

Every once in a while, I'll get an email from a league asking if I can make a custom trophy.

Now, when I say custom, I should clarify what I mean.

I'm talking about modifying one of my existing designs—not sculpting an entirely new trophy from scratch.

As much as I'd love to make every league its own completely original sculpture, that's a pretty serious undertaking. The sculpting alone can take close to a month, and then you're looking at mold making, casting, finishing, and everything else that goes into producing the final trophy.

But adding a personal touch to an existing trophy?

Now we're talking.

And over the years, I've received some pretty great requests.

The Navy Pilots

One of my favorites came from a group of Navy pilots.

They asked if I could add a pilot's helmet, a voice-activated microphone, and a bag full of beers to their trophy.

I'm not sure what else they could have possibly asked for.

Done.

That's exactly the kind of request I love.

It tells me something about the people in the league and gives the trophy a connection to their lives outside of fantasy football.

The Dental School Trophy

Another group of guys had gone to dental school together.

They wanted to know if I could add their school's logo to the back of the recliner on the Armchair Quarterback.

Again, absolutely.

But what made that one really special wasn't just the modification.

It was what happened when they unveiled it.

They sent me photos of the unveiling, and to this day, they're some of my favorite pictures I've ever received.

You could see exactly what that trophy meant to them.

It wasn't just a fantasy football trophy anymore.

It was their trophy.

Then There Was the Rice Cake

And then there's the rice cake.

I once had a guy ask if I could turn the remote control in the Armchair Quarterback's hand into a rice cake.

My first thought was probably something along the lines of:

"Okay... I have to hear the story behind this one."

Once he explained why, it all made sense.

And that's one of the things I've learned over the years: there's almost always a story.

Sometimes you just have to ask.

One Request That Really Stood Out

I've also had a league ask if I could sculpt the face of a deceased league member onto the trophy.

That was definitely a first.

And honestly, it was one of those requests that reminds you why these trophies matter.

Fantasy football leagues can last for years—even decades. The people change, the players change, and the rivalries evolve, but the memories stick around.

Sometimes the trophy becomes a way of keeping one of those memories alive.

That's pretty special.

Make It Yours

That's really the point of all of this.

I believe I've created some of the most unique fantasy trophies you're going to find, but your league is unique too.

So if you see a trophy you love but have an idea that would make it even more personal to your league, don't hesitate to ask.

Maybe it's your league's logo.

Maybe it's an inside joke.

Maybe it's something that only the people in your league will understand.

Or maybe it's a rice cake.

I'll never promise I can make every idea work, but I'll always be willing to hear it.

Because the best trophies aren't just awards.

They're reminders of the people you competed with, the ridiculous things that happened during the season, and the championship you spent an entire year trying to win.

So go ahead.

Make it yours.

Take a photo or video when you unveil it.

Who knows?

Maybe your league will finally manage to top those dental school guys.
